Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty will open their first NYC and freestanding store in Brooklyn.
This will be the lingerie brand’s largest location yet, taking over 6,100-square-feet in Brooklyn’s Triangle Building just a quick walk from Barclays Center.
According to WWD, the store has signed a 10-year lease at an asking price of $650,000/year. Shoppers will be able to roam three-stories of Rihanna’s iconic lingerie line.
Hidrock Properties purchased the building (that formerly housed Triangle Sports) back in 2019 for $7 million, and soon Savage x Fenty branding will cover the exterior walls, shared WWD. It’s believed that construction has begun on the space, with completion to follow after at least several months.
Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty originated online but recently opened its first brick-and-mortar location this past January in the Fashion Show Las Vegas mall. The store was an instant success with its awe-striking visual merchandise, and Rihanna herself even made an appearance.
Four more locations are expected to open across Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Houston. “Retail will give us the opportunity to better serve our current members, as well as acquire new customers,” shared co-president and chief merchandise officer at Savage, Christiane Pendarvis, in an ICR 2022 conference.
The company, focusing on inclusive intimates and loungewear for every body, gender, shape and size, is already worth $1 billion after only launching 4 years ago in 2018.
Though no official date is set for the store’s opening, Brooklynites and all other New Yorkers can get ready to Shut Up & Drive (or train) over as soon as doors open!
