RH Guesthouse opened its luxurious doors to New Yorkers on September 7, 2022. The opulent new stay is located at 55 Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District inside a restored loft building from the late 1880s, and just a stone’s throw away from RH New York, The Gallery at the Historic Meatpacking District.
It’s striking triangular architecture and unique aesthetic boast floor-to-ceiling European oak and vein-cut Italian travertine with stainless steel accents. “Designed to erase the chaos of the outside world,” RH Guesthouse invites travelers to indulge in a ‘one-of-its-kind hospitality experience’ that prides itself on luxury and privacy.
The building, that requires a private entrance, is home to six guest rooms, three guest suites and RH Chairman & CEO Gary Friedman’s private residence that spans the entire top floor, which will be available for booking from time to time.
According to the press release, each room/suite includes two full bathrooms, a gourmet pantry (freshly stocked), an in-room gym, and access to the private rooftop garden, pool and dining terrace where guests can enjoy a breathtaking view of Lower Manhattan, Freedom Tower and the Hudson River.
You’ll never want to get out of bed with FreshBedTM’s impressive technology that creates a thermo-regulated microclimate known to improve sleep. Yet if you feel so inclined to get moving, you can workout in the comfort of your own room with an array of stainless-steel and walnut kettlebells, dumbbells, leather yoga blocks, mats and a Bosu ball. Once you work up an appetite, head over to your gourmet pantry and snack on the fresh charcuterie, crudités, berries and baguette.
For the ultimate escape, head to the Rooftop Garden & Pool. Sculpted hedges and London plane trees frame the 40-foot mosaic infinity pool that overlooks the city skyline. Lounge on the many Italian-travertine daybeds with heated TUUCI® umbrellas or enjoy a candlelit dinner on the private dining terrace all year-round.
The Dining Room & Terrace features a live-fire restaurant where guests can enjoy elevated dishes like wood-grilled Australian Wagyu ribeye, branzino cooked over Japanese Binchotan charcoal and the house favorite, a wood-grilled avocado topped with 15 grams of Petrossian Imperial Kaluga Caviar.
Hours: Open 8am to 10pm, Sunday – Wednesday, and 8am to 11pm, Thursday – Saturday.
If 15 grams of caviar is not enough, travel downstairs to the Guesthouse cellar where you’ll find the lavish Champagne & Caviar Bar. Embellished with hints of beige & gold, the lustrous space seats 32 people for a sensorial experience offering the highest grades of Petrossian Caviar and a carefully selected menu of some of the finest Champagnes around the world.
Hours: Open from 5pm to 10pm, Sunday – Wednesday, and 5 pm to 11pm, Thursday – Saturday
“The RH Guesthouse has been designed through a lens of privacy and luxury,” said Friedman. “Privacy is the one thing everyone has given away on social media, and the one thing the internet has taken away, as you can access anyone online. We believe privacy is going to become a large and important market, and the RH Guesthouse has an opportunity to define that new market with an unseen-before level of design, quality and hospitality.”
