If the price of a Renaissance World Tour ticket (understandably) prevented you from seeing Queen B on stage (a price that many ticket resellers will now be taxed for) fear not–you’ll soon be able to catch her on the big screen.
Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé will chronicle Bey’s 56-performance, 39-city, record-breaking Renaissance World Tour, covering everything from the tour’s inception to the opening show in Stockholm, Sweden, to the grand finale in Kansas City, Missouri.
Yoncé’s BeyHive will get to see just how much Beyoncé herself was involved in the show. A press release reads:
It is about Beyoncé’s intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft. Received with extraordinary acclaim by International and US media alike, Beyoncé’s outstanding performance during RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR created a sanctuary for freedom, acceptance, and shared joy.
The production welcomed more than 2.7 million fans from around the world, some of whom traveled across oceans to enjoy Club RENAISSANCE, but this time Club RENAISSANCE will be brought straight to the fans.
Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé will premiere in the United States, Canada, and Mexico on Friday, December 1, 2023. Additional global cities will be announced at a later date.
The film will roll Thursdays through Sundays for a minimum of four weeks with multiple showtimes programmed throughout the day. Standard showtime tickets will start at $22, and the film will also be available in IMAX and Dolby Cinema at AMC.
The official movie trailer dropped today, Monday, October 2nd, and can be seen below:
The Beyonce deal follows closely behind the announcement that Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour would hit theaters this October. Both Swift and Beyoncé will pocket more than 50% of the worldwide grosses for their respective films.
This is the first time Beyoncé is releasing a concert film in theaters.
The best part–you can buy movie tickets to AMC Theatres at a reduced price right here!
