Shortly following Netflix’s official greenlight for the renewal of a second season of the Korean phenomenon, came an even greater announcement introducing Squid Game: The Challenge, the world’s newest and biggest reality competition series of all time that you can participate in.
Breaking records with the “largest cast and lump sum cash prize” to grace reality TV history, the award-winning series will be brought to life in a new global reality competition show. 456 real players from around the globe will compete in games inspired by the series and new ones created expressly for the event for a chance to get their hands on the $4.56 million cash prize. Contrary to the series, whoever loses will only go home empty handed.
Squid Game: The Challenge is the official name of the contest, which is already looking for candidates all over the world . Among the requirements, be over 21 years old, availability to travel and speak English.
The reality show will consist of 10 episodes and will be recorded in the United Kingdom. It is a co-production between Studio Lambert (The Circle) and The Garden (24 Hours in A&E), part of ITV Studios.
The Squid Game is the most popular series in Netflix history to date, with more than 1.65 billion hours of viewing in the first 28 days after its premiere.
