A Rare Mandarin Duck From East Asia Has Been Spotted In Central Park
Central Park is now home to a new feathered friend.

On October 10, a beautiful and rare duck made an appearance in Central Park’s Pond. According to various sources, this past Sunday he was spotted again.

The Mandarin Duck is native to East Asia and has never been seen before in New York outside of the zoo, leaving animal experts confused as to how this little guy could have arrived to Central Park.

The popular Twitter account, Manhattan Bird Alert– whose bio description explains that they repost Rare-bird alerts + birding news for Central Park and all Manhattan- has been keeping New Yorkers updated as to the animals whereabouts.

According to the experts, ducks have their own community, so it’s important that this new member integrates well, and as of now, he seems to be doing ok.
