If your ideal fall day involves pumpkins, apple cider, a little spooky season energy, and escaping Manhattan without actually leaving the five boroughs, we have the perfect fall bucket list item for you.
Pumpkin Point is officially returning to Governors Island on October 24 and 25, 2026, bringing thousands of pumpkins to Nolan Park for a massive, free fall festival.
As one of New York City’s largest and most unique pumpkin patches, the event transforms the historic island into a village-like atmosphere that’s so stunning, you won’t even feel like you’re in NYC.
🎃 What to Expect at Pumpkin Point
A beloved annual tradition, the pumpkin patch is filled with over 10,000 pumpkins of all shapes and sizes that visitors can hand-pick and take home for free. Pumpkins are limited to one per person per household, and guests are highly encouraged to bring their own bag or tote.
(Any pumpkins left over after the weekend will be sustainably composted right on the island by Earth Matter).

Beyond the patch itself, the island is hosting a massive lineup of free community programming and seasonal fun:
- Spooky Activities: Trick-or-treating and guided Ghost Tours
- Nature & Art: Fall foliage walks and pumpkin painting
- Family Perks: A cozy reading nook hosted by the Brooklyn Book Bodega, plus hands-on activations from the NYC Bird Alliance, Billion Oyster Project, and Earth Matter NY
- Live Entertainment: Traditional and contemporary folk music curated by Porch Stomp, alongside daily performances by Hopalong Andrew
🍎 Autumnal Food & Drink
It wouldn’t be a fall festival without the snacks. Visitors can grab seasonal bites from a mix of small businesses hailing from Governors Island and across the city.
This year’s vendor lineup includes:
- Brigs Sweet Shop
- Fan Fan Donuts
- Fauzia’s Heavenly Delights
- La Newyorkina
- Little Eva’s
- Kimchi Taco
- Pizzeria Fantastica
- Six Coasts by Smorgasburg
- Taco Vista
- YellowSun Coffee

Clare Newman, President and CEO of the Trust for Governors Island, stated:
This year’s activities really capture what makes Governors Island so special by honoring its rich history while celebrating the extraordinary destination it has become. Visitors can explore our pumpkin patch, take their pick from thousands of pumpkins, and enjoy the crisp fall air just minutes from Manhattan and Brooklyn.
