According to sources, Governor Cuomo and other state officials will be taking up proposals to legalize and regulate marijuana next year. The community can get involved this week at various meet up’s across the boroughs.
New York state is hosting three public listening sessions this week in New York City to gather input on proposals to legalize recreational marijuana. The meetings are scheduled for Monday in Queens, Tuesday in Brooklyn and Wednesday on Staten Island.
After a fierce campaign against Democratic primary candidate, Cynthia Nixon, to whom Cuomo beat just a few weeks ago, big whigs in Albany have been loosening their stance on marijuana regulation. According to State officials, these listening sessions will help guide them as they work out the details of the upcoming legislation.
