O clima quente está oficialmente aqui e, felizmente, há muitas praias em Nova York onde você pode se refrescar e se refrescar! Com o fim de semana do Memorial Day chegando, a maioria das praias de Nova York reabrirá oficialmente no próximo fim de semana, 25 de maio, para o início não oficial do verão! A partir deste fim de semana, os salva-vidas estarão de plantão diariamente das 10 às 18 horas.
Quanto às piscinas externas da cidade, espera-se que elas abram para a temporada em 29 de junho, logo após o término das aulas. O horário de funcionamento é das 11h às 19h, diariamente.

1. Praia do Parque Jacob Riis, Queens
Essa praia à beira-mar com passarelas ajardinadas é limpa e oferece muito espaço para se espalhar. Há também muitas opções de restaurantes ao redor da praia, incluindo o Rockaway Clam Bar, o Riis Park Beach Bazaar e muitos outros!

2. Praia de Coney Island, Brooklyn
Essa icônica praia de Nova York possui 5 km de sol e areia, e geralmente há quadras de vôlei e basquete abertas para a prática de atividades físicas. Além disso, para dar um pouco de emoção à sua vida, você pode visitar um de seus icônicos parques de diversões, andar no mundialmente famoso Cyclone e, é claro, comer um cachorro-quente do Nathan’s! Se estiver procurando a combinação perfeita de sol, areia e entretenimento para um dia de praia, Coney Island pode ser uma das melhores praias de Nova York para isso.

3. Orchard Beach, Bronx
Orchard Beach é a única praia pública do Bronx e é uma praia artificial que foi construída na década de 1930. Ela tem 1,1 milha de comprimento e 115 acres, e possui um calçadão, um pavilhão central, lanchonetes e muito mais. Desde que foi reformado há alguns anos, esse é o local perfeito para apreciar o pôr do sol no calçadão ou até mesmo fazer uma caminhada nos arredores arborizados.

4. Rockaway Beach, Queens
A Rockaway Beach é a favorita dos surfistas (e a única praia de surfe legal da cidade!) e oferece muitas concessões. Localizada ao longo de toda a península de Rockaway, há também um próspero calçadão com ciclovias e pistas de skate.

5. Brighton Beach, Brooklyn
Se você quiser experimentar algo que possa ser um pouco menos lotado do que a praia de Coney Island, Brighton Beach fica bem ao lado. Ela fica em um bairro conhecido como “Little Odessa”, conhecido por seus restaurantes e lojas do Leste Europeu.

6. Praia de Fort Tilden, Queens
Esse local em Breezy Point é um pouco mais discreto e isolado, mas não é permitido nadar, pois não há salva-vidas de plantão. Portanto, fique apenas com o banho de sol ou a pesca! O estacionamento mais próximo fica em Riis, portanto, é uma caminhada um pouco longa (ou você pode ir de bicicleta), mas você também evitará as multidões. Há também o elemento histórico do Forte, que data de 1917, onde você pode subir até o topo para ter uma vista panorâmica da orla da praia.

7. Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn
Não se deixe enganar pelo nome desta praia, pois na verdade ela fica no Brooklyn (a leste de Brighton e Coney Island, para ser mais preciso). É um pouco mais tranquila, geralmente atraindo moradores locais com uma atmosfera mais familiar.

Essa praia em Staten Island tem vistas deslumbrantes da Ponte Verrazano. Há também um calçadão, trilhas panorâmicas para bicicletas, um píer para pesca e um parque especial projetado para idosos.

9. Midland Beach, Staten Island
A Midland Beach fica ao lado de South Beach, do outro lado do calçadão Franklin D. Roosevelt, e costuma ser um pouco menos movimentada. Há também quadras de tênis e shuffleball, além de uma fonte de tartarugas marinhas para as crianças.

10. Wolfe’s Pond Beach, Staten Island
A Wolfe’s Pond Beach tem sido chamada de “o segredo mais bem guardado da cidade”. Ela é bem menor do que outras em Staten Island, mas também é menos conhecida e, portanto, tranquila, sem muitas multidões.

11. Jones Beach, Wantagh
Embora um pouco fora de Nova York, Jones Beach é uma praia próxima que recebe nosso selo de aprovação. O trecho de 6,5 milhas de praia é perfeito para nadar, relaxar e muito mais. Além disso, há muito mais para fazer, incluindo minigolfe, quadras de futebol, shuffleboard, uma piscina e o moderno Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater, que traz alguns dos maiores nomes da música.

12. Long Beach, Long Island
Votada como uma das praias mais limpas perto de Nova York, Long Beach é uma praia que merece um dia de visita. A própria Long Beach é conhecida como a “Cidade à beira-mar”, graças à combinação de ótimas atividades à beira-mar e à sua linda praia à beira-mar. Para chegar lá, basta pegar o LIRR até a estação de Long Beach, que fica a poucos passos da areia.
