A temporada de festas de fim de ano está a todo vapor e, embora você possa estar se esforçando para encontrar o melhor lugar para a ceia de Natal ou até mesmo planejando uma aventura em um bar pop-up festivo, ainda há tempo para retribuir nesta temporada de festas! Não há nada mais saudável do que ajudar durante a temporada de doações, e as instituições de caridade de Nova York facilitam muito a ajuda.
De campanhas de brinquedos a doações de agasalhos, há muitas opções para ajudar famílias em toda a cidade. Confira algumas ótimas oportunidades de voluntariado das quais você pode participar neste Dia de Ação de Graças!
1. Hope for New York (Esperança para Nova York)
Por mais de 25 anos, a campanha His Toy Store da Hope for New York tem sido um programa anual de alcance natalino que fornece brinquedos a famílias carentes. Este ano, ela está retornando mais uma vez com uma meta de US$ 150.000 para ajudar a criar lojas de brinquedos no local e outras doações de férias para crianças. De agora até o dia de Natal, você pode doar para a grande causa ou trabalhar como voluntário no local em toda a cidade de Nova York (desde o Harlem até Crown Heights, Upper West Side e muito mais!). 2. Campanha de doação de agasalhos da New York Cares
A New York Cares está se certificando de que todos os nova-iorquinos estejam aquecidos neste inverno, lançando sua generosa campanha de doação de casacos em toda a cidade! Com a ajuda da WE ❤️ NYC e das equipes esportivas de Nova York, a meta é realizar a maior campanha de arrecadação de agasalhos até hoje! Até 31 de dezembro, você pode aquecer alguém entregando um casaco (ou alguns!) em um ponto de entrega local, trabalhando como voluntário em um desses locais ou iniciando sua própria arrecadação de fundos virtual (cada US$ 25 são destinados a um casaco). 3. O amor de Deus nós entregamos
A God’s Love We Deliver está procurando ajudantes para a sua Festa de Inverno anual, na qual você pode se juntar a eles na cozinha para turnos adicionais de preparação de alimentos, decorar sacolas de Natal em casa ou entregar refeições com amigos e familiares. 4. Coalition for the Homeless (Coalizão para os sem-teto)
A Coalition of the Homeless (Coalizão dos sem-teto) abriu recentemente sua campanha de brinquedos para as festas de fim de ano com uma meta de 10.000 presentes para crianças e adolescentes que vivem em abrigos da cidade. Com mais de 30.000 crianças em abrigos durante a temporada de férias, sua meta é reunir brinquedos para serem entregues aos abrigos no Natal. Você pode comprar algo da lista de desejos da Amazon ou fazer uma doação em dinheiro para apoiar a campanha. Essa organização também oferece oportunidades de voluntariado separadas! 5. Toys for Tots (Brinquedos para crianças)

6. The Bowery Mission (A Missão Bowery)
Trabalhe como voluntário na The Bowery Mission nesta temporada de festas e participe do serviço de refeições festivas para nova-iorquinos carentes. A meta de alimentar os sem-teto e famintos nesta temporada de festas está em andamento, e você pode se voluntariar para ajudar a preparar os alimentos ou fazer uma doação para a causa. 7. Citymeals on Wheels (Refeições da cidade sobre rodas)
Depois de fornecer mais de 39.000 refeições no ano passado, a Citymeals on Wheels é uma ótima instituição de caridade para ajudar durante as festas de fim de ano. A Citymeals ajuda a servir refeições festivas entregues em domicílio durante as festas de fim de ano para idosos que moram sozinhos ou que não podem sair de casa. 8. Rede de cozinhas de sopa Masbia
Essa organização sem fins lucrativos tem dois locais, no Queens e no Brooklyn, e serve refeições quentes para quem entra de domingo a quinta-feira. Os voluntários podem ter mais de 12 anos de idade (acompanhados pelos pais) e podem ajudar de todas as formas… como preparar refeições, ajudar a servir comida e outras tarefas diversas.
