FiDi is getting some Parisian flair thanks to Printemps NYC.
The 160-year-old French department store — which will be a “retail and hospitality concept” in the States — set up shop in the art deco building of One Wall Street. It features everything you’d expect: clothing, beauty products, home goods, and exclusive French brands you cannot find anywhere but the City of Lights. However, it skews the average department store’s features when it comes to size, departments, and approach.
More than a place to pick up items for your closet, the new destination is a whimsical, colorful experience worthy of a photoshoot. From lavish light fixtures to bold wallpaper and carpets, the space feels museum-worthy and also includes a café with dining options from Gregory Gourdet. If you loved the new Louis Vuitton Café Library uptown, you’ll swoon over Printemps, too.
“We think we can bring something unique, both to its engaged local consumer base and the strong tourist flows the city welcomes. It is also a strategic e-commerce market for luxury, fashion, home, and beauty,” Jean-Marc Bellaiche, CEO, Printemps Groupe, said in a statement. “We plan to pioneer a new format of experiential retail in this fast changing and demanding market.”
The store opens March 21st! We’ll see you there. Au revoir!
