Beloved European budget fashion chain Primark will be opening a new store at City Point in Brooklyn. It comes along with their announcement of three new stores across New York, also including Roosevelt Field in Garden City, Long Island and at Crossgates Mall in Albany.
Primark already has one store in Brooklyn at Kings Plaza Mall in Mill Basin Village, and one at the Staten Island Mall.
The new Brooklyn store will be in the City Point complex, the newly constructed mixed-use multi-building residential and commercial complex. If you remember, it’s also where this bronze statue of Brooklyn native Ruth Bader Ginsburg lives!
Though it doesn’t say when it will open, it will have a storefront on Fulton Street. This also comes in addition to its new store in Queens, set to open next year on Jamaica Avenue.
This all equates to five new leases signed in the New York region, and builds on their goal of having more than 60 stores in the U.S. over the next five years (including current and upcoming openings). Their first U.S. store was in Boston, and opened six years ago. In the past year, they reported that nearly a third of new store openings were in the U.S.
“The three new store locations in the New York region announced today are important new additions to our offer and the team is working hard to convert the sizeable growth potential we see in the market into more new Primark stores – and more loyal Primark customers,” said Primark CEO Paul Marchant.
