A major power outage is affecting New Yorkers during their morning commute on Tuesday, July 29th — likely the hottest day of our most-recent heat wave.
According to NY1, the outage stems from an issue at the W 4th Street station in the Village, and quite a few lines have been disrupted. Currently, it’s unknown whether or not the outage is related to the heat, according to NBC New York.
“We are addressing a loss of power to our signaling system at W 4 St-Wash Sq,” the MTA said in a statement.

Per the MTA, the C and B lines are suspended, the M is partially suspended, the F is rerouted, A, E, and D lines are experiencing extreme delays, the G line is experiencing delays, the 4 is part suspended, and the 6 is skipping stops.
