Puerto Rico born and NYC-based photographer, Omar Roble, has taken Instagram by storm with his images of urban-ballet. With over 220k followers and rising, this rising star worked with dancers from the American Ballet Theater and The Dance Theater of Harlem to create his jaw-dropping urban portraits of dancers frozen mid-motion.
Set against the backdrop of New York city streets, the and elegance of his subjects creates stands (or floats as the case may be) in contrast with the constant motion and stresses of life in the big city.
Robles writes on his blog:
“Ballet dancers make us feel as if their movements were truly effortless […] This while pushing their bodies to the very extreme of what is humanly possible. It is that grace and elegance which mesmerizes us.”
