Everyone’s favorite accessory is about to make history this November.
According to a press release from POP MART, two 16-ft LABUBU sculptures will be placed on the brand’s “Friendsgiving in POP CITY” float during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which will be the mischief makers’ debut at the event.
“Our goal at POP MART is to light up passion and bring joy, and Macy’s Parade has been doing that for nearly a century,” Larry Lu, President of POP MART, The Americas, said in a statement. “Bringing our characters to life at such a storied event represents a significant milestone for us as we kick off our 15th anniversary.”
If you thought the toothy, fuzzy monsters looked adorable on pocketbooks, wait until you see them parading through Midtown.
A look at the LABUBU on the POP MART float
Like the li’l icons themselves, the LABUBU sculptures — and the POP MART float — are setting some records. (And Thanksgiving is still four weeks away!)
Joining LABUBU on the float is SKULLPANDA, Peach Riot, Dimoo, MOLLY, and Duckoo, and MOKOKO, all of whom are making their USA debut. Plus, the 16-foot LABUBU sculptures will be fuzzy and inflatable, the first elements of their kind to be built for a float in the Parade, according to Macy’s.

The debut also coincides with the store’s 15-year-anniversary (today POP MART operates over 550 stores across 30+ countries, 2,300 Robo Shops) and the 10-year anniversary of LABUBU. It’s hard to believe, given they’ve only recently caused a craze in the U.S., but we’re all for marking this exciting milestone.
Jordan Dabby, producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade said, “This year the Parade gets an extra splash of personality as the colorful characters of POP MART join the celebration. Bursting with creativity and charm and a dash of mischief, this delightful cast of friends and monsters have inspired smiles and joy, and we couldn’t be more excited to officially welcome their bright, joyful world into the Macy’s Parade family.”
Ready for the monsters? We certainly are!
