Head to Plant Bar in NYC’s NoMad neighborhood and you’ll be greeted with a sultry interior, dim, intimate lighting, and the new entirely plant-based omakase experience Omakaseed.
This dining experience, launched in partnership with SimpleVenue, an experiential agency connecting food and beverage concepts with world class venues, and Vegan Warrior Project, an organization that helps restaurants maximize their kitchen capacity by connecting them to plant-based delivery concept, offers a fresh take on plant-based cuisine.
Take one of the eight seats at their sushi bar and enjoy a menu led by Executive Chef Roberto Romero, an experienced Michelin star chef with a passion for plant-based culinary innovation.
Your fifteen course meal will highlight seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients with dishes that include a Potato and Leek Purée with Matcha Foam, Sunomo Style Pulled Oyster Mushroom Salad, Smoked Tempeh with a Mint and Garlic Chimichurri, Almond Ricotta mixed with Nori and Melon Balls, and, of course, Vegan Nigiri.
“Each omakase course will incorporate eclectic global flavors,” says Chef Jorge Pineda, Chef at Omakaseed and Executive Chef at the Vegan Warrior Project. “Our menu is carefully curated week by week based on what’s seasonally available and at its peak flavor profile, giving our guests a dining experience that uncovers the complexities of each vegan sushi course, completely transforming the vegan sushi concept.”
Their cocktails compliment your meal perfectly and are in theme with their food menu, incorporating fresh in-season fruits and veggies. Among their bestsellers are the refreshing Green Goddess, made with Suntory Roku gin, St. Germain, lime, cucumber, and basil and the perfectly fruity Practice What You Peach, made with Maker’s Mark bourbon, peach liqueur, simple syrup, pineapple, lemon, and bitters.
