Shit is hard sometimes, and rather than letting your frustrations build up until you implode, it might be good for you to let it out. Sometimes the emotional release calls for flowing tears, but other times the only way to blow off some steam is through none other than a good ol’ scream.
If you’re not wanting to scare your roommates, neighbors or roaches in your apartment, we have some alternative venues to let it all out.
1. House of Yes – Communal Scream at the Club
Feeling a little on edge recently? Get it all out at a scream party, yes that’s an actual thing, and they’re happening in NYC. House of Yes, one of NYC’s most enthralling venues and nightclubs, is hosting a “Communal Cathartic Scream” each night this weekend at the club from Thursday – Saturday. Music will be halted and a countdown will occur before you let it rip.
“Screaming into the void is better when you do it with friends,” wrote House of Yes on their Instagram post.

2. Under the Brooklyn Bridge
Screaming on the Brooklyn Bridge might be a bad idea, but who’s to hear when you’re underneath it? Let it all out with a mighty scream and shout over the East River if you have to.

3. Luna Park
No one will be able to tell the difference if you’re screaming out of frustration or pure terror while on various rides at Luna Park. Not only will you feel better afterwards, you might even have a little fun while you’re at it.

4. NYC Ferry
Though this may cause some heads to turn, if you get lucky and end up on a empty ferry you can head to the top deck and shout into the water and sky as you let the wind carry it away.

5. NYC Piers
Continuing this trend of shouting into the water (good thing Manhattan’s an island) you can release some tension at any NYC pier. Of course be mindful if people are around, but then again, this is New York and most people won’t bat an eye. Moreover, there’s plenty of piers to choose from, whether it’s West Harlem Piers Park to Gantry Plaza State Park or Pier 45 at Hudson River Park to Pier 15.
