Ahead of the worldwide release of her highly anticipated new album Lost Weekend on August 14, Phoebe Bridgers is giving fans a chance to hear the record in full, before it officially comes out, in one of the most unexpected settings imaginable: inside a planetarium.
And for NYC-area fans, you won’t have to travel far to experience it.
The Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, just across the Hudson River from Manhattan, is hosting special Lost Weekend listening experiences inside its massive Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium — the largest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere — on August 10 through August 14.
In one of the most unique album listening experiences, attendees will be surrounded by massive visuals, immersive sound, and a 360-degree planetarium dome as they experience Phoebe’s new music for the first time.

The album is set to arrive worldwide via Dead Oceans on Friday, August 14, but select planetarium audiences will get an early listen.
The Liberty Science Center experience combines Bridgers’ music with 88 million pixels and 30,000 watts of digital sound, creating a listening experience that’s decidedly more immersive than your average album premiere.
There are two different versions of the experience, too, so fans can choose between a cosmic visual journey or a full-on laser spectacle.
- ✨ Lost Weekend Laser Experience: Designed by Laser Fantasy, this version transforms the planetarium dome into an immersive light show, pairing the album with dazzling animations, kaleidoscopic abstract imagery, and aerial beams of light. Think planetarium show meets album listening party, with an ever-changing world of light and color surrounding you as Bridgers’ music fills the dome.
- 🌌 Lost Weekend Planetarium Experience: Created by acclaimed night-sky photographer and National Geographic explorer Babak Tafreshi, this version pairs the album with breathtaking footage captured across nearly 20 countries, from the star-filled skies of Madagascar to the Northern Lights over Iceland and dramatic storms across Texas. The footage was captured entirely in the natural world without computer-generated imagery, creating an immersive celebration of nature, night skies, music, and the universe.

Much like Bridgers’ concert experiences, the Lost Weekend planetarium experience will be completely phone–free via Yondr. Your phone will be secured in a pouch when you arrive, and smartwatches, smart glasses, and other glowing wearable tech won’t be allowed inside either.
