Please Don’t Tell (PDT) has been one of NYC’s favorite speakeasies since it opened in 2007 (it’s certainly on our list!)…
And now for the first time ever, it has expanded with an exclusive outdoor dining area.
The new outdoor bar — called “PDT Tropicale” — offers an island-inspired oasis in the middle of the East Village, coming from new owner (and longtime PDT bartender) Jeff Bell.
Expect fruity, ice cold cocktails highlighting rum and tequila — from watermelon margaritas and caipirinhas to frozen pina coladas and gin & tonics.
And as usual, you can enjoy delicious hot dog pairings from the neighboring eatery Crif Dogs, like the new “Chang Dog” — a kimchi and Hanoi House dog with Vietnamese toppings.
Speaking of, you won’t need to enter the secret phone booth at the hot dog joint to enjoy this part of the speakeasy. Instead, the sidewalk and street directly in front of both businesses will be transformed with lush greenery, bamboo walls, patio umbrellas and rattan chairs, creating a tropical paradise on St. Mark’s Place.
PDT Tropicale is only open on weekends, so be sure to make a reservation first on their website here!
