Mei Xian and Tian Tian were just as excited as we were about the first snow in DC!
It snowed in Washington D.C. for the first time in two years this past weekend and the giant pandas at the National Zoo clearly didn’t want to miss out on all the fun.
On Sunday, the National Zoo shared a snippet showing their giant pandas, Mei Xian and Tian Tian, having fun in the snow and it’s literally one of the cutest things we’ve ever seen — We’re not even kidding.
The adorable video shows one of the panda’s gleefully sliding down in the snow and now it’s all we can think about — I mean look at them! Have you ever seen something cuter?! Cause we certainly haven’t.
Young panda cub Xiao Qi Ji didn’t want to miss out on all the fun either and headed out to explore the snow by himself for the first time.
His keepers said that although the cub seemed pretty nervous at first, he eventually seemed to warm up to it a bit and even took a nip at the fresh white powder.
Meanwhile, Xiao Qi Ji’s parents were up for some serious fun according to the zoo, which noted there was plenty of sliding, rolling and even somersaulting in the snow. There might even have been some snow angel making involved, who knows… Best snow day content ever!
