Otherworldly ‘Stranger Things’ Theme Park Is Taking Over Coney Island Next Weekend

Get ready to enter the Upside Down on Coney Island next weekend as Stranger Things will be taking over with a Stranger Things 3 Fun Fair.

Season 3 of Stranger Things will debut on Netflix on July 4, and they’re celebrating by turning Coney Island’s Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park into something straight out of, well, 1985! For the weekend of July 5th through July 7th, fans of the series will be able to experience “Stranger-fied” rides including the Wonder Wheel, Tilt-a-Whirl, the Thunderbolt, carousel, and bumper cars.

The park will be filled with various nods to the show, and even feature Scoops Ahoy push carts serving sweet ice cream treats in addition to a “Hawkins Fourth of July Firework Show” taking place on Friday (July 5) at 9:30 p.m. The park will open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. all weekend long.

If you happen to on the West Coast this weekend, the themed Fun Fair carnival will be taking over Santa Monica Pier on June 29th and June 30th with a performance by the Hawkins High School cheerleaders and some ‘80s cover bands.

The new season takes place in the summer of 1985 in the same town of Hawkins, Indiana while school is out for the summer…which makes this summertime amusement park takeover pretty perfect. Check out the official Stranger Things 3 Trailer below:

Anyone else notice the ferris wheel cameo in the trailer? 👀
