Most festival and county fairs have been canceled this fall, but thanks to this new creative event so you can still get your fill of their iconic foods!
Funnel Cakes, Fried Twinkies, Sausage & Peppers, Philly Cheese Steak, Gyros, Candy Apples, and of course popcorn, will all be at the first-ever Orange County Fair Drive-Thru Fair Food Festival.
In Middletown, NY (less than two hours from the city), these fairgrounds will transform into a drive-thru food truck adventure starting this week.
The description says the event will “feature a ‘Drive-Thru’ style format where fairgoers enter the grounds in their vehicle, drive up to designated ‘stops’ or areas with certain types of fair foods and receive window service like a classic drive-in diner!”
If you couldn’t tell already, they take fair food very seriously. So much so that there will actually be different sections devoted to different “genres” of fair food!
It will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 4pm-9pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am-9pm and will take place Sept. 24-27 and Oct. 1-4 at the Orange County fairgrounds in Middletown, NY.
Drivers will be provided with a map and a menu and taken on a set route through the grounds, free to stop at any of the vendors that interest them. The event, which is FREE to attend, is for vehicles only and cannot accommodate walk-up customers due to its socially distanced nature.
You can reserve a parking spot to chow down on all your food buys on their website, and before the first event a map will also be uploaded along with a menu of all items.
Hope you’re hungry!
