Bill Frisell, Chick Corea, Christian McBride will serenade you with sophisticated instrumentals to raise funds for New York musicians impacted by the crisis.
Jazz is arguably the heart and soul of New York City, so when a crisis hit that instantly decimated the music scene, what better way to counter it than with the very first virtual jazz festival? If you miss slipping into the intimate settings of NYC’s jazz scene, or if you’re curious about exploring the liberated chaos of jazz arrangements, then this is something you don’t want to miss.
An exciting lineup of elite jazz musicians will be performing for the virtual concert, Live From Our Living Rooms, to raise money for musicians affected by COVID-related show cancelations. Esteemed jazz guitarist Bill Frisell, pianist Chick Corea, vocalist Becca Stevens, and other notable artists, will perform from their homes nightly until April 7, bringing smooth notes into your living room.
There are also daily masterclasses you can take, such as “The Art of Breathing” with saxophonist David Liebman.
Having your living room filled with the soothing sound of live jazz is incredible, but stellar artists donating their talents and time to helping others is just plain special.
Shows are free but tax-deductible donations are encouraged. You can pre-register for the show of your choice here.
