Well all of the cold weather spells we had last week seem to be coming to a close (key word: seem)! This week we enjoyed some gorgeous spring weather, but this weekend it is climbing into true summer territory.
Though it was cloudy this morning (Fri. 5/20), later today it will reach 73° and the sun will come out to play. Later this evening, there is a chance of thunderstorms, so it’s probably best not to make any outdoor dining plans.
But tomorrow (5/21) is when the heat & humidity will really hit us! Temperatures are forecasted to reach at least 90 degrees, even up to 93° by some predictions! It could actually hit a heat record for the date, and with humidity will have a real feel of 100° — due to this, caution is advised for anyone doing strenuous activities outside.
This is according to multiple weather outlets, from The National Weather Service to The Weather Channel to NBC’s Storm Team 4 (though each varies by a degree or two).
Heat & humidity will build into the area this weekend, with 90+ degrees expected away from the coast. After a cool Spring, there is an increased risk of heat related illnesses. Here is the latest briefing for the upcoming heat #NYwx #NJwx #CTwx:https://t.co/2GXsZeNgE6 pic.twitter.com/ihSTRbA5iS

And then on Sunday (5/22), temperatures are predicated to reach 90° again! There is a chance of rain on Sunday though, which there isn’t for Saturday.
