Forget a layover, New Yorkers can now take Delta’s direct route from John F. Kennedy Airport to Memphis International Airport as of this month!
The new route officially launched on September 8th, 2025, taking passengers on a sky-high journey from the city that never sleeps to the land of Elvis, blues and barbecue. Passengers will fly on Delta’s 76-seat Embraer 175 aircraft.
Michael Keeney, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, said:
We are excited to see Delta’s continued expansion at MEM…The addition of JFK service provides our passengers with another option to the New York City area and expands connectivity to Europe and other international destinations.

The entire flight is a quick trip, only taking about three hours. Thus, you can catch an afternoon flight from NYC to have a delicious barbecue dinner and enjoy some live music in Memphis before returning to your NYC apartment, all in the same day!
