After what felt like the longest (and rudest) winter ever, spring has finally arrived—and she’s making an entrance.
Translation: you can temporarily retire your puffer coat.
The first official weekend of the season is bringing a much-needed warm up to NYC. Today, Friday, March 20, skies are sunny with highs around 53º, though it’ll feel closer to 55º, according to AccuWeather. Not bad—but the real treat is what’s coming next.
Saturday, March 21, climbs to 56º, with a RealFeel of 62º. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, but overall, it’s giving actual spring energy. By Sunday, March 22, temperatures peak at a glorious 60º (RealFeel 61º), making it the perfect day to dine outdoors, stroll the park, or simply exist without five layers.

Enjoy it while you can, though—because NYC weather is nothing if not unpredictable.
By Monday, March 23, temperatures will nosedive about 14 degrees, dropping to just 46º. And aside from a brief bump to 57º on Thursday, March 26, the rest of the week settles back into the 40s.
According to National Weather Service meteorologist James Connolly, temperatures this time of year typically hover around 50º—so while this weekend’s warmth is a welcome preview, it’s not sticking around just yet.
Consider this your official spring teaser: blink and you might miss it.
