The James Beard Foundation has been championing and supporting U.S. culinary culture for over 30 years, and along with fundraising efforts and events, is known for their coveted food industry awards. Their Restaurant and Chef Awards began in 1991, and their 2023 list of finalists was just revealed!
Of course, living in one of the food capitals of the world, we’re privy to some amazing restaurants and some of the top culinary talents, so plenty of NYC spots made the list!
Back in January the foundation announced its 2023 chef and restaurant award semifinalists, and the recently released list of finalists is as follows:

- Dept of Culture
Born out of the IYA EBA popup dinner series, Dept of Culture features a Tasting Menu from North-Central Nigeria that explores an evening of conversation in an intimate setting. 327 Nostrand Ave.
