The election is only about a week away, and New Yorkers are already showing out to perform their civic duty. If you don’t care to deal with the chaos of voting on Election Day itself, early voting is a great alternative to cast your ballot ahead of time. Early voting in NYC commenced over the weekend, already seeing a historic voter turnout on the very first day.
Registered voters can cast their ballot during the early voting period between Saturday, October 26th through November 3rd. On Saturday, October 26th, nearly 150,000 voters took to the polls—shattering NYC turnout records for any first day of early voting.
Of course, all voters will receive the coveted sticker, however, the first 300 voters on Saturday at each poll site received a limited-edition “I Voted Early” bracelet.
According to a post on X from the NYC Board of Elections, Brooklyn saw the highest voter turnout of any borough on that first day, with approximately 40,289 ballots cast. Manhattan followed closely behind with a turnout of 38,237, then Queens with 31,671, the Bronx with 16,462 and lastly, Staten Island with 13,486.
Day 2 of early voting on Sunday, October 27th, added nearly 260,000 more check-ins, Brooklyn again showing the greatest turnout of the boroughs.
