It’s been a hot summer in NYC, and though we had a brief cool spell earlier this month, the heat has returned at its worst.
Heat index forecasts show highs in the triple-digits in NYC today (8/11) and tomorrow (8/12), and an Excessive Heat Warning is currently in effect for NYC.
Due to the dangerous heat conditions, NYC Parks have extended hours at all of their Olympic- and intermediate-sized outdoor pools. They will be open until 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
The Mayor’s office has reminded New Yorkers to stay in air conditioning as much as possible, and to drink plenty of water. You can find “cooling centers” across the city here.
And get ready…because tomorrow will feel ever hotter!
