It’s been a hot summer so far in NYC, and though we had a brief cool spell earlier this month, the heat has returned at its worst.
Heat index values will be in the upper 90s to low 100s in NYC today (7/20) and tomorrow (7/21), with an air quality advisory in effect today from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The summer heat is in full swing, as it gets uncomfortably hot. Heat indices will range mostly from 95 to 101 on Wednesday, and 95 to 104 on Thursday (except 90 to 95 for eastern coastal communities). The Mayor’s Office has reminded New Yorkers to stay in air conditioning as much as possible, to drink plenty of water and check in on neighbors. You can find “cooling centers” across the city here.
And get ready…because tomorrow will feel ever hotter!
