New York City just got a little sweeter: Li-Lac Chocolates–the city’s oldest chocolatier–has officially opened a permanent shop inside Sahadi’s flagship on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn Heights.
Founded in 1923, Li-Lac has been handcrafting small-batch chocolates the old-school way for over a century, using original recipes and techniques that have barely changed. The result? More than 120 varieties of fresh, made-in-NYC chocolates that range from classic truffles to gift-worthy boxes you’ll pretend aren’t for yourself.

You’ll find the new setup right by Sahadi’s registers–aka prime territory for a last-minute “I deserve this” purchase.
The space features three full cases of chocolates plus shelves stocked with signature gifts and seasonal treats (yes, that includes Easter goodies and limited-edition French egg boxes filled with flavors like marzipan, mocha, and lemon chiffon).
The collab feels especially fitting: Sahadi’s has been a Brooklyn staple since 1895, known for its old-world charm, global pantry staples, and prepared foods like hummus, tabbouleh, and kebabs. Pair that with Li-Lac’s century-old chocolate legacy, and you’ve basically got two NYC institutions under one very delicious roof.

Chris Taylor, Owner of Li-Lac Chocolates, stated:
This is a natural extension of a friendship that’s been years in the making. We’ve always looked for thoughtful ways to bring more Li-Lac to Brooklyn, and Sahadi’s felt like the perfect partner to do that.
With this opening, Li-Lac now has seven locations across NYC–plus nationwide shipping for when your sweet tooth follows you out of state.
