5 Things You Might Have Missed Last Week In NYC: Nov. 22

Here’s what you missed…

From the dazzling holiday window displays to Times Square welcoming back in-person spectators at the NYE ball drop, there is so much to catch up on!

Here are our top five highlights:

1. Bloomingdale’s dazzling 2021 holiday window displays are a technicolor dream

“Give Happy” is the theme for the Bloomingdale’s display this year and it’s a colorful wonderland sure to spread holiday cheer. With crazy installations inside each window, click here to get a first look!

2. This New Yorker may have just found authentic Banksy pieces in the subway

Thanks to TikTok, word on the street is that one lucky New Yorker may have purchased a genuine Banksy piece in the subway. The story involves one (potentially very lucky) commute home, a mysterious art seller, and tons of confirming responses from social media. Read more about the whole tale here.

3. A 12-story Christmas tree is towering over Fifth Avenue

With the holidays quickly approaching, more and more decorations are hitting the streets. One of our personal favorites remained the annual Louis Vuitton holiday installation that covers the entire corner facade of the building. This year’s display is now up and tops out at 12-stories for a wowing holiday decoration that’s a definite must-see. Discover more here.

4. The iconic Times Square NYE celebration & ball drop is welcoming back in-person spectators

With proof of vaccination, NYers will once again be able to ring in the new year in-person in Times Square. To learn more about the specific requirements to attend the ball drop in-person, read here.

5. Get a free dessert when you try our special “Honey We’ve Hit 1M” pie at Pizza Secret, available through November

In honor of hitting 1 million followers on Instagram, we’ve partnered with our friends at Pizza Secret in Park Slope, Brooklyn to create our very own SNYC pie called “Honey We’ve Hit 1M.” Topped with delicious San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, ricotta, (you guessed it) HOT HONEY, arugula, and shaved grana cheese, it’s a mouthwatering masterpiece that’s only available through the month of November. And if you share a pic of the pie with the hashtag #mysecretnycpie and tag both @secret_nyc & @pizzasecret, you can get a free nutella-drench dessert! Learn more here.
