What’s better to cool off from the summer heat that a dip in our public pools… a trip to a water park, that’s what, and now there’s a new floating pop-up water park in the Rockaways.
Rockaway Water Park is a mobile, floating stroke of genius that opens for the summer in the city. New Yorkers can scratch that water slide itch through to mid-September in Jamaica Bay. This isn’t your everyday outdoor activity; you can jump off of trampolines, enjoy a water slide, jump off a high-dive and swing like Tarzan… THIS is something to see this summer.
Aside from the park features (a slide, rope swing, bouncing platforms), and you can even rent jet ski, jet ski tours, whale watching tours and private parties on the pop-up. This attraction is probably the closest you can get to reliving your childhood water park memories in the city.
You can make reservations at the official Rockaway Water Park page where you can get access to the boat (for swimmers ages 8 and up), even your hands on jet ski rentals, activity tours, private parties. Fair warning, Rockaway Water Park follows NYC laws on alcohol so you won’t be able to drink or roll up drunk. But you can save that for after the fun… and HOW MUCH FUN! Check out the video below:
