We definitely owe a lot to the medical professionals taking care of patients and working to fight COVID-19—and one airline is saying ‘thank you’ in a big way.
For National Nurses Day (today, May 6), JetBlue will give out 100,000 pairs of round-trip flights to
medical professionals, and they’re starting with 10,000 New Yorkers.
Governor Cuomo announced the gift during his daily press conference, saying it was a “beautiful idea of a way to say thank you” on National Nurses Day. “We’ll find our own way to say thank you too,” he said. “But I’m sure every New Yorker joins me in saying thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
You can nominate your “Healthcare Hero” by filling out this form on the JetBlue website. “They’ve earned our love, our gratitude and some serious R&R,” they wrote. The round-trip tickets can be applied to any place JetBlue flies to, “so they can take a vacation when the time is right.”
90,000 of the flight giveaways will be selected from random entries, while 10,000 will be donated to workers across public and private hospitals right here in NYC (the airline’s self-described “hometown”).
They noted that the recipient will still pay flight taxes and fees.
