Grow NYC’s Greenmarkets are staples in NYC neighborhoods, especially the bustling Union Square location, and most are still operating as essential businesses.
If you still want to purchase farm-fresh food from local purveyors, you can find the one nearest you or find specific closings on their website.
But be sure to follow the safety regulations they have set out, copied below.
Here are the practices in place that you must adhere to when visiting:
- Plan ahead and try to keep your market visit short. If you can, join a couple hours after opening when it is least busy.
- Wear a face covering while in the market space. All Producers and staff are required to wear face coverings as well.
- Try to limit your shopping party to 1 or 2 people.
- Please, try to leave your dogs and children at home, or with an adult outside of the market space.
- Keep 6 feet of distance between you and others. Chalk and tape on the ground designates 6 foot spaces in lines.
- Bikers should lock their bikes up outside the market. If you forget your lock, please dismount and walk your bike while shopping.
- Wait to consume any food until you get home.
They also may limit the number of shoppers in the market from time to time to ensure safe social distancing.
You can also find vendors that are offering pre-order, home delivery, and shipping here!
