The TD Five Boro Bike Tour has been bringing NYC cyclists together since 1977 as the world’s largest charitable bike ride, and it’s all happening on Sunday, May 4th, 2025.
Each year, the bike tour helps more than 30,000 adults and kids across the five boroughs with free public bike education and access to programs. All proceeds from the event help fundraise for Bike New York, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with a mission to let cycling transform lives and communities. The 47th iteration of the Five Boro Bike Tour will see 32,000 cyclists hit the city streets.

“The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is not just a ride – it’s a celebration of New York City, its diverse and vibrant communities, and the transformative power of cycling,” said Ken Podziba, CEO of Bike New York. “We look forward to welcoming cyclists from all over the world as they come together to experience the thrill of riding car-free in the greatest city in the world while supporting our mission to provide safer streets and free bike education to underserved communities.”

What is a rider ID kit and why do I need it?

All participating cyclists must have and wear their rider ID kit during the tour. A rider ID kit contains: your 2025 Tour helmet cover, your numbered bib to attach to the front of your jersey or shirt, your numbered bike plate to attach to the handlebars of your bike and fasteners like safety pins and twist ties.
Wearing a rider ID kit is essential for riders in case they are separated from their bike while riding a support bus, if they’re separated from family and friends, and for photos.
