NYers Are Hilariously Photoshopping ‘Inauguration Bernie’ Into Classic NYC Scenes

Today was a momentous U.S. day: we elected our 46th President, and our first female, Black and South Asian Vice President.

And though of course it was a long-awaited, historic event…the internet didn’t hesitate to find those moments to be EXTRA about and it became a very meme-able day in U.S. culture. [featured image source: Instagram / @newyorknico]

None more popular than perhaps Senator Bernie Sanders, who became a Twitter darling today because of everything from his attitude to his handmade mittens:

And THEN, of course, New Yorkers had to do some photoshopping and plop his “New York vibe” into countless city backgrounds, making for some pretty hilarious photo creations!

Popular Instagram account @newyorknico seemed to start the trend, and then NYC Twitter took off with it:
