If you’re planning to avoid the crowds and get all of your holiday shopping done online from the comfort of your bed, you’re going to want to start checking gifts off your to-buy list if you haven’t already started yet–new research has just revealed the states most likely to encounter postal issues when ordering Christmas gifts, and New York’s position is worrisome.
Experts over at casinorevisor.com examined the average monthly search volume over the past 12 months of issue-related terms related to postal services in each state, such as “lost package DHL” and “FedEx package delay.” They averaged the number of monthly searches and compared it to each state’s population to find a rate per 100,000 people, determining which state is most likely to encounter postal issues when placing online orders for Christmas.
Hawaii took the #1 spot, with 1,713.95 average monthly searches per 100,000 people, though New York wasn’t far behind, coming in as the second state most likely to encounter these issues with 1,457.65 searches per 100,000 residents. The carrier that seems to cause the most issues: USPS with a total of 719.47 searches.
Franz Ostendorff, gambling expert and author of casinorevisor.com, stated:
Christmas is a very demanding time for courier services, as online shoppers across the country scramble to find gifts for loved ones. Where possible, selecting gifts from brick-and-mortar stores for friends and family will eliminate the need for couriers to ease the demand and prevent any delays.
Our suggestion to avoid shipping headaches: shop local! It feels much better to support a small business anyway. These are some of our favorites in NYC.
