If you were around Dag Hammarskjold Plaza on Saturday you were in for a surprise. Between 12-4pm was the 3rd annual NYC Bodypainting Day. The event was organised by world renowned artist Andy Golub who created NYC Bodypainting Day as a way to promote human connection through art. Over 100 people were living canvases for for dozens of artists creating art for this years theme, “Inner Beauty”.
Understandably, 100 naked people can cause quite a stir. In order to accommodate the crowds of photographers and spectators, Golub set up viewing platforms behind barricades.
Once the painting had been completed outside the UN headquarters, participants boarded double-decker buses and took their art show through the city… but in case you missed them… here some photos
