NSFW: Female all-nude Shakespeare comes to Prospect Park

An all female troupe of actors will be performing Shakespeare’s The Tempest from September the 7th. The troupe use nudity to dramatize the play’s themes of alienation and reconciliation and the show “builds on a long tradition of free expression in theatrical productions held in outdoor settings” according to their website.

Pitr Strait (Director) and Alice Mottola (Consulting Director) use nudity to get across a deeper message about body freedom, and equality. The group is closely affiliated with The Outdoor Co-Ed Topless Pulp Fiction Appreciation Society, a group we featured in our 7 things you can do naked around NYC article. They have worked for over five years to educate people about their rights and to change attitudes about non-sexual nudity.
