Forget the nation-wide alert, this is the real issue New Yorkers are fed up with!
It was recently released that Apple will be adding 70 new emojis to the current mix, one of which will be a bagel. While on the surface this appears to be good news, the image of it (and Twitter) tells us otherwise. Let’s take a closer look:
The emoji may seem like a harmless bagel to some, but to New Yorkers it’s anything but an accurate portrayal of what a bagel should look like. With a smooth factory-made curve and a machine-cut slice through, this “bagel” is most certainly not a bagel you’d get anywhere in New York…except maybe from a grocery store freezer. And don’t even get us started on the lack of schmear! A disgrace to fresh, fluffy, handmade bagels everywhere! Needless to say, many upset New Yorkers and bagel fans took to Twitter to express themselves over the matter:
You call this factory-produced bagel an emoji that stands for all bagels??? New Yorkers demand more. https://t.co/kvo6THEjNO
