One day after New York hockey rivals the Islanders and the Rangers went head to head at MetLife Stadium in the 2024 NHL Stadium Series, the National Hockey League announced that the New York Islanders will host the 2026 NHL All-Star Weekend at UBS Arena in Elmont.
The NHL All-Star Weekend is an annual event that includes a number of fun events featuring fans’ favorite NHL All-Stars, NHL Legends, Professional Women’s Hockey League stars, Mascots, interactive family fun, and much more.
The 2024 NHL All-Star Weekend was expanded to a three-day event and took place just a few weeks ago, from February 1st through February 3rd. It was hosted by the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ON Canada.
Though in 2026 the annual event will make its return to UBS Arena!
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman stated:
The National Hockey League is thrilled to have the best and brightest of our game hosted at the spectacular UBS Arena for the 2026 NHL All-Star Weekend. We have been looking forward to UBS Arena playing host to one of our major League events since before construction of this wonderful arena began. We have every confidence that the Islanders organization, led by Scott Malkin and Jon Ledecky, will deliver a celebration that will make the greater New York region and the NHL proud.
The NHL All-Star Weekend will be an exciting lead-in to not only the 2026 Olympic Winter Games (hosted February 6-22, 2026 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy) but also the 2026 World Cup Final, which will be hosted at MetLife on July 19th, 2026.
The 2026 NHL All-Star Weekend will mark the second time the Islanders host NHL All-Star activities–the first being the 1983 edition along with Wayne Gretzky claiming NHL All-Star MVP honors at Nassau Coliseum.
Islanders Majority Owner Scott Malkin stated:
We are honored to be invited to host the National Hockey League, the game’s finest players and fans from around the world to join us in New York for the 2026 NHL All-Star Weekend. Whether our guests will be watching the talented players on the ice in UBS Arena, a building built specifically for hockey, shopping in Belmont Park Village or enjoying pre and post-game festivities in The Park, the 2026 All-Star weekend will show NHL fans the outstanding destination we have for hockey, shopping and entertainment.
Additional information on the 2026 NHL All-Star Weekend such as dates, ticketing, and broadcast information has not yet been announced. Fans can sign up to receive news and updates on the league’s midseason showcase here.
While we await the 2026 festivities, hockey fans and aficionados can enjoy the brand new The Park at UBS Arena, which on December 27th, 2023 introduced the first two public pond hockey rinks to the community.
