Attention all superheroes, vigilantes, and beyond: New York Comic Con is gearing up for its annual return to Gotham.
Perhaps the greatest celebration of fandom, the pop culture extravaganza always lands on our list of best things to do in NYC in the fall.
Whether you’re interested in attending a panel, checking out the work of new creators in Artist Alley, or simply shopping around for collectibles, the four-day festival is one for the (comic) books. Find your nearest costume store and gear up for what’s sure to be a memorable few days.
What is New York Comic Con?
The annual convention is a pop culture celebration highlighting comic books, publishing, television, films, and beyond.
While at the October event, you can attend panels, meet your favorite stars — this year’s lineup includes Elizabeth Olsen, Eli Roth, Grady Hendrix, and Marisa Tomei, to name just a select few — show off your look at Cosplay Central, stop by workshops, and so much more.
The 2024 theme is NYCC Bodega. According to the event, “Bodegas and New York Comic Con have a lot in common: we’re cultural institutions, we’re hubs for all walks of life, and you never know when the most out-of-pocket adventure is about to unfold on location.”
When and where is NYCC?
The four-day-long celebration will take place from October 17th-October 20th at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Hell’s Kitchen. (429 11th Ave). The hours, according to the event website, are as follows:
Show Floor:
- Thursday: 10am-7pm*
- Friday: 10am-7pm*
- Saturday: 10am-7pm*
- Sunday: 10am-5pm
*Artist Alley closes at 8pm
Panels:
- Thursday: 10am-10pm
- Friday: 11am-11pm
- Saturday: 11am-11pm
- Sunday: 10am-5pm
How do I buy tickets?
Tickets for New York Comic Con can be purchased solely [trackLink link_url="https://www.newyorkcomiccon.com/en-us/buy/tickets.html"]online via the NYCC website[/trackLink].
Daily tickets are $75 and include access to 400+ exhibits, Artist Alley, panels, brand experiences and more.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday’s events are sold out, as well as Sunday Kids ($30), VIP Passes, and 4-Day passes. Thursday tickets are still available at this time.
What events can I expect this year?
New York Comic Con offers many options to fans, including panels, celebrity meet and greets, an art section called Artist Alley, a merchandise store, and more!

Even better news? A huge West Coast celebration is making its way from San Diego to NYC. The Fandom Party New York will kick off the 2024 convention on Friday, Oct. 18th the Hard Rock Hotel in Times Square at 8pm.
“New York Comic Con is obviously another big fan event. It’s important in entertainment and gaming, and we want to be there to, again, celebrate and bring joy to those fans,” CMO Stephanie Fried told The Wrap.

What panels are taking place at NYCC?
The festival has just released a very extensive lineup of panels and screenings taking place throughout the four-day event. Prices vary depending on the occasion, but some notable happenings include:
- HBO’s THE PENGUIN: Extended Sneak Peek and Conversations with Colin Farrell, Cast and Creatives on Thursday, Oct 17th
- THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM with guests like Stephen Colbert and Kenji Kamiyama on Friday, October 18th
- The Toys That Made Us with Brian Volk-Weiss, Savannah Goss, and Matt Kravitsky on Saturday, October 19th
- The Frights and Delights of Queer Horror Comics on Sunday, October 20th
What should I wear to New York Comic Con this year?
You can dress as you please! The best part about New York Comic Con is being able to dress up as your favorite heroes if you wish. (And Spirit Halloween locations have just reopened around the city!)
