The fifth annual North America’s 50 Best Bars awards just wrapped up at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Canada.
The results are in, and NYC absolutely dominated the competition.
Meet The Reigning Champion: Sip & Guzzle
Taking home the top prize is Sip & Guzzle, which was officially crowned No. 1 and The Best Bar in North America.
This New York hotspot is recognized as a defining force in our region’s cocktail culture.
It won over the judges by seamlessly blending precision and creativity.
With an expertly executed drinks program, it offers an experience that cocktail enthusiasts and industry pros both love.
NYC Dominates The Top 5
The bragging rights don’t stop at number one. New York City claimed three of the top five spots on the continent.
- Coming in at No. 3 is Bar Snack. This venue made a massive splash and also took home the Disaronno Highest New Entry Award.
- Right behind them at No. 4 is Schmuck. This bold new spot won the Three Cents Best New Opening Award. They are celebrated for their unconventional energy, genre-defying drinks, and irreverent approach to hospitality.
A Global Cocktail Capital
Overall, the 2026 list highlights 28 bars from the United States, alongside top spots from Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean. But New York is the undisputed heavyweight champion.
An incredible 13 local NYC venues made the top 50 list.
The winners were chosen by an Academy of more than 300 anonymous bar industry experts. These voters also maintain a strict 50/50 gender balance to ensure diverse voices are heard.
Other beloved local spots like Superbueno (No.9), Clemente Bar (No.15), and Double Chicken Please (No.35) secured their well-deserved places on the list.
