Here’s a different form of flowers to get your Mom for Mother’s Day!
Every year the New York Botanical Garden hosts their fabulous “Mother’s Day Garden Party.” Of course this year NYC events are on hold, but NYBG is still bringing their iconic Azalea Garden right to you (and mom).
They’re hosting a Facebook Watch Party this Sunday, May 10, at 11am that will include a virtual tour of the exquisite garden in peak bloom, along with special Mother’s Day greetings by members and patrons.
They’ll also show you how to make your own decorative paper magnolia with NYC paper florist Charles Zimmerman (so you can create a blooming paper garden in your apartment!), plus share a special Garden Party playlist so you can truly mimic the mood of an afternoon springtime soirée.
The Maureen K. Chilton Azalea Garden is full of gorgeous white, coral, pink, and purple azalea blossoms that come into full bloom right around Mother’s Day. Alongside the azaleas and rhododendron, there’s also dogwood, mountain laurel, hydrangea, spice-bush, witch-hazel, epimedium, hosta, hellebore, snow-drop, and ferns.
Find the event on their Facebook page here, and tune in on Sunday!
