If your morning commute involves the 2, 3, 4, or 5 lines, it is time to double-check your alarm clock.
The MTA has officially announced a massive subway service shakeup starting Monday, May 18.
The transit agency is adjusting the schedules during both the morning and evening rush hours to better match actual passenger habits.
Why the sudden change?
According to the MTA’s detailed data, shifting these trips will smooth out the flow of trains and help eliminate major weekday headaches.
By spreading peak service out, the agency hopes to reduce the potential for train traffic jams. They are specifically targeting the notorious Nostrand Junction Bottleneck in Brooklyn.
