This fall is paradise for foodies. A whole host of restaurateurs, both home grown and from further afield, are opening up new eateries in the city. From NYC’s answer to Chicago’s famous The Aviary, to the new tenants of the iconic Nighthawks, here we’ve given you the seven newcomers that we’re exited about. Enjoy:
Frenchette

- Where – 241 West Broadway
Taking its name from a song off of ex-New York Dolls singer David Johansen’s self-titled first solo album, Frenchette is a modern take on a brasserie. The venue will seat 100-diners with a rotisserie, a Japanese-charcoal grill, and a basement aging room.
Da Dong
- When – Opens in October
- Where – 3 Bryant Park
This upscale Chinese restaurant, when completed, will have two levels, an outdoor garden, and a terrace. This will be the first U.S. restaurant from this Chinese chain.
The Aviary NYC
- When – Opens this month
- Where – 80 Columbus Circle at 60th Street
This is New York City’s arm of Chicago’s wildly successful “The Aviary.” We covered this back in March, and the time has finally come for it to open. Appart from serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this NYC branch will offer a wider range of Cocktails that its predecessor.
JeJu Noodle Bar

Named after an island off the Southern coast of Korea, JeJu Noodle Bar will take over the iconic Nighthawks location. Korean comfort food is on the menu here with their Ramyun Noodles (like Japanese Ramen) from chef Douglas Kim.
Ferris at Made hotel
- When – Opens in October
- Where – 44 West 29th Street
This Nomad, New American, restaurant is the brainchild of the ex-Le Turtle chef. Greg Proechel. Finding its home in “Made” hotel, which opens today, you’ll have to wait just a little longer for Ferris.
Life Restaurant

- Where – 19 West 31st Street, Herald Square
NYC’s iconic Life Magazine Building is being revamped as a Boutique Hotel and restaurant, the latter opening this month. We can expect a lounge, dining room, and bar seating around 60 patrons in total on the ground floor.
The Lobster Club
- When – Opens in October
- Where – 99 East 52nd Street
The Lobster Club will be helmed by the Michelin-starred chef Tasuku Murakami, of Sushi Azabu fame. The restaurant will open in the lower level of the former Four Seasons spot.
