Miami Flavor is Coming to NYC With Tropical Rooftop Cocktail Bar
Of the World’s Best 50 Bars, Miami’s Broken Shaker is number 14 on the list, and it’s now bringing its fabulous Miami vibes to the big apple.

With a cool backyard feel to it and some vintage Florida furniture, Broken Shaker is most known for their fresh “tropical cocktails that are quintessential Miami.”

The bar will be located at the Freehand Hotel at 23 Lexington Ave, and feature an eclectic menu with Caribbean-Middle Eastern bites as well as their famous tropical cocktails. The food menu has been created by Broken Shaker’s Miami chef Jimmy Lebron. On offer will be items such as Pulpo y Tostones (fingerling potatoes, piquillo emulsion, and la boîte chili oil), Griot & Pikliz (crispy pork shoulder, and Haitian slaw), and Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich (with arabic slaw, and karawan tahini ranch).

When it comes to the amazing cocktails, those will be created by the head bartender Evan Hawkins. The selection will be split into three categories including NYC-inspired drinks (of course), popular cocktails from Miami’s location, and then a mix of the popular creations from Broken Shaker’s LA and Chicago locations as well.

A few cocktails will include: Poppyseed Bagel Fizz (beefeater gin and aquavit shaken with powdered cream cheese, black seed bagel kvass, and topped with bitter lemon soda); Preserved Lime Caipirinha (yaguara cachaça shaken with Mexican chile salt,  cured limes, jicama, and cane syrup); Trippy Tropicale (tropical fruit infused absolut lime stirred with dry vermouth, fino sherry, and tiki bitters); Strawberry Rye Tai (wild turkey 101 rye, dry orange curaçao, strawberry vanilla oat milk orgeat, and a mix of fresh citrus).

There will also be a selection of wines, beers, and larger cocktails for sharing. Broken Shaker opens this rooftop escape with Miami vibes on Wednesday, May 9.
