Chances are, you’ve already seen From the World of John Wick: Ballerina — perhaps even more than once since its June 6th release — and you’ve streamed all of the John Wick movies umpteen times. Now what? Enter Mercy For None, Netflix’s newest K-Drama that’s dominating the streaming service.
It’s going to be a minute before John Wick: Chapter 5 hits theaters, so we highly suggest finding a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat in the meantime. And we have a feeling this June release will be it.
All about Mercy for None — Netflix’s newest drama
For those who are unfamiliar with the premise, let’s take a step back. If you haven’t streamed John Wick or seen the film in theaters, the neo-noir series centers on an iconic hitman (played by Keanu Reeves) who gets pulled back into the vicious world he’s tried to escape numerous of times.
In the latest installment, Ballerina, we see a similar story unfold, as Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) takes on an army who is responsible for taking her father’s life. Similar elements prevail in Mercy for None.
In this new story, based on Plaza Wars: Mercy for None by O Se-hyung and Kim Gyun-tae, a former gangster is trying to mend his ways, but he reenters Seoul’s criminal underground intent on payback. Per Netflix, “Gi-jun (So), who’s been living in exile since he left the underworld over a decade ago, reenters the mob scene to get revenge against anyone and everyone involved in his brother’s murder.”
