Step behind the crimson curtains of the Al Hirschfeld Theatre and you’re no longer in Midtown Manhattan. You’re inside the glitter-drenched, champagne-soaked world of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The entire theater has been reimagined as the iconic Parisian nightclub, complete with a runway that slices through the audience, sultry red lighting, and the legendary windmill presiding over it all. Since 2019, it’s been one of Broadway’s most immersive spectacles .

⭐️ Megan Thee Stallion Joins Moulin Rouge!

Grammy-winning rap powerhouse Megan Thee Stallion is making her Broadway debut as Zidler, the charismatic and commanding impresario of the nightclub. Her limited engagement will run for eight weeks, from March 24th through May 17th, just two months before the show is set to close after a thrilling seven years on Broadway.

Oh — and she’s making history while she’s at it. Megan becomes the first female-identifying performer to play Zidler in the show’s global history. 

In a statement, Megan said: 

Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honor. I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace. Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me.

Based on Baz Luhrmann’s revolutionary film, the stage adaptation reimagines the classic love story with a high-energy, pop-infused score, mashing up more than 70 songs from artists ranging from Madonna and Elton John to Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. 

Producer Carmen Pavlovic hinted that Megan’s run will feature some of her own hits woven into the production.

In a statement, Carmen said:

We want our show to go out with a spectacular bang, and Megan is the force of nature to lead us there. And yes, there will be a hint of music from her own iconic catalogue. It’s an unmissable moment for both Megan’s fans and ours.
