After a summer-long closure, Marquee New York is officially back — and the iconic nightclub looks completely transformed.
The legendary Chelsea spot, which first opened in 2003, reopened Thursday night with a high-energy performance by Diplo, marking its third full renovation in 22 years.
For the past couple of months, Tao Group Hospitality partnered with designer Jack Hotho to gut and reimagine the space from top to bottom, creating a nightclub that’s both a tribute to its history and built for the next generation of NYC nightlife.

The refreshed Marquee now features:
- An expanded dance floor
- A massive upgraded LED system and immersive visuals
- Rich dark oak finishes with moody purple accents
- A content-forward design made for today’s nightlife scene

While the club was closed this summer, Marquee also hosted a pop-up DJ series on the Edge observation deck, bringing the party high above the city — read more about that here.
And of course, the reopening comes with a stacked DJ lineup including Steve Aoki, Kaskade, Oliver Heldens, Francis Mercier, Chris Lorenzo, and Elderbrook, with even more performances to come this fall.

“Marquee has always been synonymous with energy, music, and unforgettable moments,” said Tao Group co-CEO Noah Tepperberg. “With this remodel, we’re honoring the legacy while elevating every detail to meet today’s expectations.”
