To celebrate what would have been her 100th birthday, an incredible new exhibition has landed in NYC. It all takes place at Genesis House, which is the perfect setting to spend a day escaping the hustle and bustle of NYC.

What is Manifesting Marilyn: The Making of an Icon?
You may think you know Marilyn Monroe, but this exhibition will take you behind the scenes with an intimate look at her life. This is an incredible opportunity to revisit her legacy and understand more about her. The exhibition is totally immersive – expect to feel like you’re stepping into her home. Artifacts on display include her actual clothing, her phone book and more. Genesis House has even recreated her library, with the books she actually owned on display. The exhibition also includes re-written headlines about the icon, changing some of the more controversial headlines that were often printed about her to better encompass who Marilyn really was. Throughout the exhibition, there are interactive moments and plenty to participate in. No spoilers, but start thinking about what you’re manifesting at the moment – there may just be a spot in the exhibition for you to share.
Where is the exhibition?
Manifesting Marilyn is taking place on the lower level of Genesis House, a brand space in the heart of the Meatpacking District. Enter on 10th Ave and descend downstairs to the Cellar level, where you’ll get to take in the exhibition and wander around to your heart’s content. While you are there, curators are on hand to answer any questions and share more details about the exhibition with you.
Is there anything else to do at Genesis House?
As mentioned, Genesis House is a destination on its own. This luxury destination aims to share new perspectives and spark conversations through various art, culture and design exhibitions. It’s a curated escape into Korean hospitality, which really comes to light on the second level, where you can visit the restaurant and Tea Pavilion. Once you’ve made your way through the exhibition, level 2 is the perfect next spot – it’s where you can see Marilyn’s library collection as well. Debrief with friends over some tea, or visit the restaurant to indulge in a delicious Korean dining experience. There is also a special Manifesting Marilyn menu on offer for the duration of the exhibition.
When is the exhibition open?
The exhibition is open now through September 6 and is completely free to attend. It is open from 11am to 7pm Tuesday through Sunday and no tickets are required. Whether you’re visiting NYC or you live here, it’s a perfect way to spend the afternoon – the exhibition should take around 15 minutes to explore, followed by an elevated, long lunch at your leisure.
